Renaming a dataset

You will see the imported dataset appear in your history as "BX". Once it is finished running the background will turn green; then you can click on the name to see a little bit about the data.

Next, click on the pencil icon (red arrow) and a form will appear in the center panel that allows you to change some of Galaxy's information about the dataset (known as metadata). All datasets from the BX table browser will have the same name "BX" initially, so to avoid confusion later it is wise to rename them. In the Name box, replace "BX" with "CEU SNPs" (red arrow). If desired, the Info and Annotation/Notes boxes can be used to record longer descriptions; the difference is that the text in the Annotation/Notes box will only be displayed when you click on the yellow note icon in the history panel. When done, click the Save button.

Similarly, each new history starts out with the same name "Unnamed history", but it's a good idea to give them more meaningful names to distinguish them later. To do that, just click on the old name and enter the new one, e.g. "Example 2".
