Selecting the hetereozygous SNPs from the parents' genomes

We expect the SNPs to follow a recessive pattern and therefore be heterozygous in the parents. To select the heterozygous SNPs we will use the allele count column (blue box) of the pgSnp format (column 6 here as the bin column was added by the browser). A heterozygous SNP will have an allele count of two.

In the section Filter and Sort, click on the Filter tool. Select the dataset with mother's genome and the disease SNPs. Type in "c6==2" for column six equal to two. Click the Execute button (green arrow).

Repeat this step using the father's genome.
