Creating the altered genomes for the affected children

For the finished datasets we have edited the metadata by clicking the pencil icon. We have renamed them to make it clear what is in each (blue arrows), and indicated the comment line that came in with the disease SNPs (not shown).

To add the disease alleles to the children's genomes we will again concatenate the two datasets, first the disease alleles then the genome. In the section Text Manipulation click on Concatenate datasets (red arrow). Select the HomVars (homozygous variants), then click the Add new Dataset so you can add to the daughter's genome without the comment line (red arrows). Then click Execute (green arrow).

Repeat this step this time selecting the other daughter for Dataset 1. Edit the metadata changing the dataset name and indicating the comment line for both the daughters as was done for the parents. We will be leaving the son's genome as it is. This completes the first part of the example, creating the input datasets.
