Selecting populations from the gd_snp dataset

A more common use of this tool would be to specify individuals from a population. To demonstrate this tool and to increase the number of individuals we are using for the fixed on opposite alleles we are going to specify the populations that have similar skin color.

Click on the Specify Individuals tool. Choose our gd_snp dataset for the input and choose the two populations with light skin color (red arrows). Note this tool is using the labels we entered when creating the gd_snp dataset. Enter "light" as a label for this collection. This label will automatically be used as the dataset name. Click the execute button (green arrow).

Next repeat this step for the dark skinned populations.
